A pod is a group that likes, replies, and reposts each other's posts so the numbers move. The people in it often have not read the post. The like count changes. The account does not gain a room.
What a pod is doing
Someone drops a link in a chat. Everyone else likes it, replies, or reposts. Sometimes a tool fires those actions for them. The post picks up velocity, and X may show it to a few more people.
The engagement is the agreement. It is not a person who wanted to read you. When the group moves on, the post is back to the audience you actually had.
What X will not pay for
Original Content Rewards pays on qualified impressions from original posts. Impressions on replies are excluded from the 500,000 Home Timeline impressions you need in 90 days. A reply pod does not fill that bar.
X also tells people in the program not to solicit engagement: repeatedly asking others to like, reply, bookmark, follow, or repost. A pod is that instruction, standing as a group. Content posted by automated means is ineligible too.

A follow is a different trade
A pact is not a like. Two Premium accounts in the same niche, at the same size or smaller, both choose the follow. You do it on X. We check with X, then again across the month, so the person who unfollows is the one whose profile shows it.
That gives you one verified follower who was supposed to stay. It does not manufacture a comment thread. If you want the early audience, thirty of those people beat three thousand likes from a chat you will leave.
